My musical theater engagement is grounded in over a decade of vocal training and membership in a prestigious Chinese children’s choir. Having attended more than 80 musicals, I conducted academic research exploring Gen Z’s motivations as theater audiences. In summer 2024, I deepened my practical understanding by serving as Director Assistant for an original musical production in China.
As the first Asian female lead in our school’s musical program in recent 5 years, I have demonstrated leadership both on and off stage. When our Arts Director hesitated about staging Spring Awakening in our Quaker community, I spearheaded a comprehensive publicity campaign: interviewing the creative team, publishing an article highlighting the production’s educational value and thoughtful adaptations, and organizing additional promotional activities. This initiative secured official school media coverage and filled both performances to capacity—proving that informed advocacy can transform community apprehension into genuine support.

Singing and Choir
The first two song videos were recorded in the Spring of 2022, during the period when Shanghai implemented COVID-19 lockdown measures. I made them specifically to lift the spirits of myself, my friends, and my family. During that time, I also joined online choir performances with my classmates and fellow choir members—all in the hope of bringing hope and power to everyone amid those challenging days.
